Sprint just announced that a new Android OTA update will be rolled out for the LG G2 users, the firmware bringing LG’s highly appreciated Knock Code. The update should embrace your smartphones starting from today, though as usual when talking about OTA (over the air) releases the update will be rolled out in phases and not all the users will be able to apply the Android software at the same time.
Anyway, the roll out should be completed in a few days; until then you should take your Sprint LG G2 and search for the OS improvement by heading towards “menu – settings – about phone – system updates – update LG software”. If the OTA is available then you will be able to flash the same automatically – remember that you should have a WiFi connection enabled.
The new Android update released by Sprint can be flashed manually if that’s what you want; for being able to do so, you will have to use the LG PC companion app, which should be installed on a computer – of course you will have to establish a connection between your smartphone and your computer in order to install the Android OS using LG PC companion software.
The new OS represents only a minor update which is provided by Sprint for the LG G2. The firmware brings the Knock Code feature along with improvements for group messaging, a patch for Google, HD Voice icon, improved email signature and other small bug fixes and stability improvements. The new Android OS will be dubbed as ZVD and as already mentioned should be already out which means that you should start looking for the same.
Of course, after flashing the OS and after testing the same return here and share your impressions with us and with our readers. Also, use our how to section if you want to spice things up a little bit by updating your Sprint LG G2 with a custom ROM firmware.
