The Official Droid Maxx Android 4.4.4 Update Available Soon, Now Rolling Out Only for Motorola Testers
The Android 4.4.4 KitKat update has been pushed to various Motorola devices including the Droid Maxx model, but it is only available for the Motorola Feedback Network testers.
The official general release will begin after the testing is complete, it shouldn’t be too long and you might be able to upgrade your Motorola Droid Maxx to Android 4.4.4 by the end of this week. This means that your Droid Maxx will skip over the 4.4.3 firmware of KitKat and get straight to Android 4.4.4 firmware.
With the new update your device will get a better camera software, visual voicemail fixed bugs, support for ISIS mobile payment, security patches, improved interface, tweaked dialer app, and others more.
The Android 4.4.4 KitKat test build update is available OTA (over-the-air) and it measures 285MB in size. If you’re a member of the Motorola Feedback Network and you own a Motorola Droid Maxx device, then you should get the new KitKat 4.4.4 firmware files today. All the other devices will get the update shortly and possibly by the end of this week, but that only if the soak test goes according to plan.
Are you a part of the testing network of Motorola, then you should tell us in comments if the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat update has arrived for your smartphone.
Besides the Motorola Droid Maxx there are other two different Motorola devices getting the firmware: Droid Ultra and Droid Mini. So, make sure to keep an eye on the notification panel in order to install the update today.
When the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OTA Update arrives for your Droid Maxx, Droid Ultra or Droid Mini you will simply need to read the changelog and then confirm the installation. Your smartphone will start automatically the updating process and reboot in normal mode after all the new files are installed successfully.
Tell us in comments if you find any other major changes than the ones we’ve listed in this post.
