ASUS officially revealed they are now rolling out the Android 4.4 KitKat OTA update for their PadFone Infinity and Fonepad Note 6 devices. The Taiwan-based company made the announcement on Facebook. You can view the posts here and here, respectively.
The new Android 4.4 update for ASUS PadFone Infinity and ASUS Fonepad Note 6 arrives with the usual KitKat goodies such as transparent status and nav bars, white status bar icons, immersive mode, cloud printing, color emoji support, full screen album and movie art in the lock screen, new Location menu, along with performance improvements and update ASUS apps. As you may know, the two devices were still running Android Jelly Bean.
The new software update is being rolled out in phases which means that the ETA may vary based on your region. Once your device will become eligible to receive the new Android 4.4 KitKat OTA update you should be able to see a system update message in the notification bar. In case the system update notification failed to appear you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About device > Software updates > Check now. Alternatively you can try checking for the new software using ASUS’ PC Suite. You can find the tolls on the company’s support page here and here.
Are there any PadFone Infinity or Fonepad Note 6 owners reading this? Have you guys received the new software update on your device? Please let us know in the comments section below.
