Are you still doubting that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the most anticipated Android smartphone of the second half of the year? We aren’t and the high amount of leaks and reports is here to confirm that. As we are getting closer to the Note 4 release date, rumors about the next-gen Sammy phablet are hitting the web on a daily basis.
As you may know from previous leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will be available in two variants: one powered by quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, and the other sporting an octo-core Exynos 5433 chipset. The later one just got benchmarked and it looks to be the second most powerful mobile processor on the market. The new Exynos 5443 is developed in-house by the South Korean company, it’s 64-bit enabled, and it’s based on four Cortex A57 cores and four Cortex A53 cores. It also sports a Mali T760 GPU that seems to be at least as powerful as the Adreno 420 GPU of the Snapdragon 805 rival.
According to the leaked benchmark screenshots, there’s only one processor that managed to score higher than Note 4′s Exynos 5443 unit. We’re talking about Nvidia’s Tegra K1 SoC which is equipping the Nvidia Shield tablet. For what it’s worth, there’s currently no smartphone on the market to be underpinned by a Tegra K1 chipset.
The benchmarks also show a comparison between the Mali T760 GPU of the Exynos 5433 and the Adreno 420 GPU of a Snapdragon 805 chipset. While the Mali T760 GPU has better 3D graphic performance on Note 4′s Quad HD screen, the score for the 2D renderings of the two GPUs are almost identical. Even though the Exynos 5433 outscores the Snapdragon 805 in these tests, we are dealing with two supercharged processing units, so you won’t have to worry about which one to choose.
I remind you that the rumor mill speculates that Galaxy Note 4 will arrive with a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 resolution, 3 GB of RAM, 16/32/64 GB storage, microSD, and a 16 MP primary shooter with OIS and 4K video recording support. The smartphone is also expected to pack a fingerprint sensor and a heart rate monitor. As you may know, the Galaxy Note 4 release date has been set for September 3rd, when Samsung will hold an Unpacked event at IFA Berlin 2014.
