A first-time iPhone feature has leaked, suggesting it could debut in the rumored upcoming iPhone 6,uSwitch reports.
Along with leaker Sonny Dickson, the publication has offered up photos of the smartphone's alleged USB cable's retail box, showing reversible capability.
A reversible USB cable might not knock your socks off, but the feature is very useful to users, especially those who have damaged their hardware by placing their USB cable into their computer the wrong way. The new cables would eliminate this, as both sides would be safe to use, keeping your computer's USB port damage-free.
The reversible cable seems more likely than not to debut in the sixth-gen, as well, uSwitch reports:
"The shots of retail boxes for the cables confirm that rather than being something that could yet be a long way from reality and market-readyness, Apple is in fact ready to introduce them with the iPhone 6 next month."
A new survey from uSell.com of over 1,000 U.S. smartphone owners, meanwhile, has uncovered the features consumers really want from the iPhone 6 — with predictable results.
37 percent of the survey takers said they want better battery life and 19 percent are clamoring for a larger screen, while an improved camera and better reception both claimed 11 percent of requests.
As for new features, 45.5 percent of survey takers indicated that they are very interested in those sapphire display rumors floating around, while 19.2 percent added that they are pining for an infrared camera. The third-most requested feature, at 10.7 percent, was HealthKit, followed by 3D image functionality (9.5 percent) and smart-home compatibility (7.7 percent).
The next-generation iPhone models are expected to be unveiled Sept. 9 at an Apple event. The smartphone is rumored to be coming in 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch options, with specs rumors tipping the device for an Apple A8, mobile payment compatibility, Touch ID, an improved camera and more.
