Leaked Moto 360 Photos Reveal Wireless Charging and Heart Rate Monitor

Motorola’s Moto 360 is probably the most anticipated smartwatch of the year. While the Chicago-based company failed to reveal the exact release date of their Android Wear-powered smartwatch, more leaked details have surfaced online.

New photos of the Moto 360 leaked courtesy of Italian blog AndroidWorld.it and even though they don’t bring anything new to the table they seem to confirm other details rumored in the past. It’s a known fact that Motorola’s Moto 360 will come with wireless charging support (mist likely Qi standard), but the new leak revealed how the cradle looks like for the first time.

You might have noticed that many Android OMEs have turned their attention towards fitness and fitness-related features lately. Well, we are glad to announce you that Moto 360 features a heart rate sensor which will be pretty useful to track down your activities.

Moto 360′s wireless charging capabilities may drive customers into choosing it over its main rivals, Gear Live and G Watch. Why? Because of the pin-based method used on both devices. Several users have reported issues with the plastic bit holding of the Gear Live’s cradle, while some G Watch users are complaining that corrosion appeared on the charging pins.

The new batch of spy shots revealed that the Moto 360 will indeed be steel-made, despite the rumors that said it will be made of plastic. We also have confirmation for a pedometer and that Motorola’s Android Wear-powered smartwatch will have IP67 water resistance rating.

The aforementioned publication says that the photos above are of a production or production-close Moto 360 unit. This means that the device you are looking at will be very close to what you will be able to purchase later this year.
