Paranoid Android 4.5 Beta 1 Update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 Now Available for Download

Paranoid Android 4.5 Alpha 3 was released a week ago, but the team behind the popular custom ROM is moving fast. The Pararanoid Android team announced yesterday the PA 4.5 Beta 1 update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Nexus 10, and other supported devices is now available for download.

Paranoid Android 4.5 Beta 1 arrives with significant stability improvements, it makes the PA-specific features work better on multi-user, brings the latest CyanogenMod changes to the theme engine, and fixes the “clear all recents” bug. As you may know the Paranoid Android 4.5 builds are aiming to bring the Android L aesthetics to supported devices before Google releases the final version of the new major update of their mobile operating system.

Anyway, you shouldn’t be scared of the “Beta” label that has been given to this PA 4.5 build. Paranoid Android 4.5 Beta 1 is my daily driver on a Nexus 5 and it’s more stable than I have expected. The Beta 1 release represents a milestone in the ROM’s development and I am eager to see how quickly the Final builds will show up give the how fast they got past the Alpha stage.

As I was mentioning above, the new Paranoid Android 4.5 Beta 1 build is compatible with Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10. If you happen to own a OnePlus One, Oppo Find 5, Oppo Find 7, Oppo N1, or Galaxy Nexus we are glad to announce you that the new build is available for your device, too. Installing Paranoid Android 4.5 Beta 1 is pretty easy if you installed custom ROMs before. First up you will need an unlocked bootloader, a rooted device, and a custom recovery. You need to download the PA 4.5 Beta 1 build for your device along with GApps for KitKat from here, copy both ZIP files on your smartphone’s/tablet’s internal storage, then reboot in Recovery Mode. Choose install ZIP, choose both PA 4.5 Beta 1 and GApps and install them. Perform a factory reset, delete cache, and everything should be just fine.
