The LG G Pad 7.0 is the South Korean company’s rival for Galaxy Tab 4 7.0. AT&T officially revealed on their consumer blog that the new LG tablet will hit their store shelves this month. To be more precisely, the LG G Pad 7.0 will go on sale at AT&T on August 8th. Among others, the LG G Pad 7.0 shares some of the software features of the LG G3 flagship smartphone and I am pretty sure it will be capable of attracting those of you in search of an affordable tablet.
The LG-made 7-inch slate is underpinned by a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, has a an HD+ IPS LCD display, and it runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. On the back of the device there’s a 5 MP camera, while the 4,000 mAh battery promises to keep the tablet awake for at least 10 hours. The LG G Pad 7.0 arrives with G3′s Knock Code lockscreen security feature, which allows you to use a pattern of knocks to unlock the tablet instead of the classic PIN or pattern. If multi-tasking is what you want from a tablet, you might want to hear that G Pad 7.0 comes with Dual Window, a feature that enables you to open two compatible apps at the same time. On the other hand, QSlide allows you to drag and drop content from one window to the other and even choose the transparency levels.
You can make quick notes or make annotations on screenshots with the help of Quickmemo. QPair can be used to use the G Pad 7.0 as an extension of your smartphone. After you pair your tablet with any smartphone running Android 4.1 and latter you will be able to receive calls, receive messages, and use social networks without even touching your smartphone.
AT&T is selling the LG G Pad 7.0 at a price of $149.99 after you agree to sign a two-year contract with them or for $12.50 a month for 20 months, no strings attached. The US carrier also has a sweet deal for you if you buy an LG G2, LG G3, or LG G Flex from them. You can add the G Pad to your plan for only $0.99.
