Earlier today we told you that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Alpha appeared on the website of an UK retailer and now we are back with more details of the yet-unannounced smartphone. New Samsung Galaxy Alpha photos were revealed by Vietnamese websitetinhte.vn.
If the device leaked by the aforementioned website is indeed the Galaxy Alpha, then the new Samsung handset will arrive with an oddly outlined body that brings some unconventional curves around its frame. The Galaxy Alpha is indeed different when compared to Samsung’s previous smartphones, bu we are eager to see how the curved body will feel like when held in hand.
The new leak also confirms some previous rumors, indicating that the Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch display with 720p resolution. It seems that the smartphone will also pack a 12 MP primary camera and a 1,850 mAh battery. Is it just me, or that battery is a bit too small for a high-end smartphone?
Early rumors have suggested that Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be powered by an oct0-core Exynos processor (most likely a 5433 unit), that will come with 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, and no support for microSD cards. It seems that the smartphone will run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box with TouchWiz UI on top of it and that it will integrate a fingerprint sensor.
Anyway, the main selling point of the Galaxy Alpha will be the metal-made body. Samsung’s fans are asking for a metallic smartphone for a long time and it looks like the South Korean company will deliver. Furthermore, a premium-looking Galaxy smartphone would be capable of stealing some of Apple’s customers, especially now that the iPhone 6 is on its way.
Regarding the Samsung Galaxy Alpha release date, the rumor mill speculated that it has been set for August 13. Other reports say that Galaxy Alpha will debut along with Galaxy Note 4 at IFA Berlin 2014 on September 3rd.
