We’ve told you yesterday about an unannounced LG G3 Stylus smartphone that showed-up in a spot for LG G3 Beat. Even though it was initially rumored that the LG G3 Stylus will be a direct competitor for Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4, it seems that the new LG phablet will be lower end smartphone.
A new report from Korea Times claims that the LG G3 Stylus will be officially released by the end of the third-quarter of the year, which ends in September. If their “industry source” is right, then the LG G3 stylus will have a 5.5-inch screen, just like the LG G3 flagship. The folks at Korea Times have been wrong with their reports a lot of times, therefore we are advising you to take the information with a pinch of salt, especially because the promo video we’ve seen yesterday showed a G3 Sylus that was slightly larger than the G3.
The same source also revealed that the G3 Stylus will not arrive with the high-end hardware platform. If their report is to be believed the stylus-enabled will arrive with a different battery size and lower screen resolution. This means that the LG G3 Stylus might not be the Note 4 rival everyone was anticipating.
Even though Korea Times is calling LG G3 Stylus a “budget device” its screen resolution might not be lower than 1080p. As for the battery, LG probably had to make it smaller to make room for the stylus.
As I was mentioning above, it’s recommended to take the report with a pinch of salt. Remember, nothing is official until LG says so.
Even though there were no reports about the exact date when the new LG phablet will be released, chances are we might be able to see it in flash later next month at IFA 2014 Berlin. You shouldn’t forget that Samsung will introduce the Note 4 September 3rd at the same tech fair.
