Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 has just saved a man’s life, by taking a bullet headed to his chest. The man was shot, but the bullet stopped in the Samsung phablet, saving his life.
According to 9to5Google, a Chinese man got shot in a street altercation, after he picked up a dropped wallet from the street. He then joked about using the money to buy beer and the wallet’s owner shot him directly in the chest. Luckily for the man, he had the huge Galaxy Mega 6.3 phablet in the chest pocket and the bullet stopped in it.
We’ve seen stories like this before and tests have proven that most smartphones are able to stop a bullet, so Samsung could even market its phablet like this. As you can see in the image above, the phone doesn’t even seem very damaged, though I’m pretty sure it won’t work anymore.
This is probably one more advantage of phablets, because maybe if he had a smaller phone, the bullet could miss the phone and hit the man. The Galaxy Mega 6.3, as its name suggests, is a 6.3-inch giant and it can replace a body armor due to its size and strength.
Unfortunately it’s not a very powerful smartphone, featuring a 1.7Ghz dual-core processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, along with a 3,200 mAh battery. But it seems like our Chinese man lives with these specs.
