Sony Releases New Teaser for Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact

IFA 2014 is approaching fast and, as we are getting closer to the debut of the Berlin-based tech fair, more details of unannounced devices are surfacing online. All the big players of the tech industry are expected to show up at IFA and introduce their latest gadgets. Sony is one of them and we are eager to see them revealing the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Sony has released a 56 seconds long new teaser video for IFA and it just hints at the existence of three new devices. If you are quick enough (or if you pause at 0:40) you will be able to see three outlined devices. If you aren’t quick enough just look at the above photo.

It’s fairly easy to figure out that we are looking at two smartphones and a tablet. I guess it’s fairly safe to assume the bigger smartphone is the highly-anticipated Xperia Z3, the smaller one is the Xperia Z3 Compact, while the tablet is the rumored 8-inch Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact.

Furthermore, Ben, one of Xperia Blog’s readers has spotted the Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact being mentioned on Sony’s website. Apparently, the Xperia Z2 Tablet product page was mentioning the new tablet’s name under Features > Display.

There are too many Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact details currently available. All we know so far is that the new device might arrive with an 8-inch screen with 4:3 aspect ration, very thin bezels, and that it will be both water and dust resistant.

On the other hand, most of the Xperia Z3 specs have leaked online way before the IFA announcement. If the reports are to be believed the new Sony flagship will borrow most of the hardware components of its predecessor, the Z2. Therefore, the Xperia Z3 is expected to arrive with a full HD 5.1-inch screen, a slightly more powerful quad-core 2.5 GHz Qualcomm processor, 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB storage, microSD support, a 3,100 mAh battery, and the same 20.7 MP main camera. It seems though that the new handset will be both thinner and lighter than the Xperia Z2.
