Sony Xperia E1 and E1 Dual Android 4.4 KitKat Updates Rolling Out Now

The Sony Xperia E1 and E1 Dual devices are currently getting the Android 4.4 OTA Update firmware update. Check the notification panel of your device starting now and see if there are any new KitKat upgrade files available for download.

The Xperia E1 and E1 Dual should get the update in phases, so you should expect the new firmware update to arrive by the end of this month for every device. With this new firmware your Sony devices will get tons of improvements and tweaks that should make your phone run faster and be more stable at the same time. Also, there are several tweaks that will bring a much better battery life.

The Android 4.4 KitKat is the base OS and here are some features added by it: improved Status and Quick Settings menus that are much more easier to read and control, a new launch animation borrowed from the Sony PlayStation 4 interface, live wallpaper support for both home and lock screens, stable UI, faster OS performance.

A great new addition would be the support for moving apps between internal memory storage and SD card, this allows users to have a better control over where the data created by apps is stored. Some other improvements were added for the Sony native apps: Messaging, Sony Select, WALKMAN, Movies and Album, Smart Connect, TrackID, and the Battery STAMINA Mode.

Sony Xperia E1 and E1 Dual will be able to access the Xperia Themes after the Android 4.4 KitKat update is installed allowing users to choose from more than 280 custom graphics elements in order to refresh their entire UI easily.
