T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update Available Now, Adds VoLTE Voice Calls Support

T-Mobile has launched a new small Android 4.4.2 KitKat update that adds support for VoLTE on Samsung Galaxy S5. The new firmware is rolling out right now and you should keep an eye on your device in order to be one of the first users to install it.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat update is currently available for all the latest smartphones that were launched in the last 12 months and, the T-Mobile Galaxy S5 was fortunate enough to have it pre-installed. However, the first KitKat 4.4.2 firmware build of T-Mobile SGS5 wasn’t complete which is why now we’re getting a new firmware.

In G900TUVU1BNG3 you will get VoLTE for making voice calls enabled, this will allow all T-Mobile Galaxy S5 owner to make and receive calls over T-Mobile’s LTE network at higher quality. There are might be some other major enhancements added, but, if they are, then we couldn’t find them in the changelog.

The update is being rolled out in phases over Wi-Fi and you should get it starting today. If the update isn’t arriving today, then you shouldn’t worry as I’m sure that it will be delivered by the end of next week. Alternatively you can spam the Software Updates menu under Settings> About Phone section, but that might not change anything.
