Amazon Officially Reveealed 4th Gen Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, Kindle Fire HD, Kindle Fire HD Kids, and More

It’s a busy day for the folks at Amazon. The online retailer giant officially announced today they will soon bring not less than 5 new Kindle devices on the market. Besides that, Amazon also announce an update to their Android-based Fire OS.

Fire OS 4, or Sangria, will be rolled out of Amazon’s older Kindle Fire tablets later this year, but Amazon’s 4th gen Kindle tablets will run it out of the box. Besides introducing a new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9, a new Kindle Fire HD, and Fire HD Kids Edition, Amazon also revealed two new Kindles. New Amazon Kindle Fire HD

Amazon has introduced a new Kindle Fire HD tablet. Available with a 6-inch or 7-inch display, the new Kindle Fire HD is advertised as “the most powerful tablet under $100.” The both 6 and 7-inch Kindle Fire HD models bring 1280 x 800 resolution, quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, 2 MP rear-facing camera, and “all-day battery life.” The new devices will be available in five body colors and two internal storage options 8 and 16 GB.

Amazon announced that the new Kindle Fire HD will start shipping next month. Amazon Fire HD Kids Edition

As you might have guessed already, the new Kindle Fire HD is a kids-orientated tablet. Amazon ships it with a rugged and kid friendly case and made it available in three colors. Just like the new Kindle Fire HD, the Kids Edition device is available in 6-inch and 7-inch display options and shares the same platform with its adult counterpart. It brings a 1280 x 800 screen, quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, and 2 MP primary shooter.

The new Fire HD Kids Edition has a price of $149 for the 6-inch model and $189 for the 7-inch model with 8 GB storage. But why is it more expensive? Because amazon is offering two year guaranteed replacement if your kid breaks the tablet. Fire HD Kids Edition will start shipping October 21, but, in the mean time, you can pre-order it from Amazon’s website.

New Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9

The new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is the most powerful tablet in Amazon’s line-up. In fact, is one of the most powerful tablets on the market. The new device boasts about an 8.9-inch screen with 2560 x 1600 resolution, a Snapdragon 805 SoC with quad-core 2.5 KHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU, and MIMO WiFi 802.11ac with up to 600 Mbps download speeds.

The new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 will be available as of October 21 in 16, 32, and 64 GB internal storage options. The new tablet also arrives with an 8 MP primary shooter, dual stero speakers with Dolby Digital Atmos and Amazon’s Mayday service. There are WiFi-only and WiFi+LTE models available.

New Amazon Kindle

Amazon Kindle Voyage

The Amazon Kindle Voyage is available with both WiFi-only and WiFi+3G connectivity. The 6-inch reader arrives with a Carta e-paper screen with 300 ppi and adaptive front light. According to Amazon, the Kindle Voyage can bring 21 hours of screen on time.
