You may want to hold off on upgrading to the just-released iOS 8.0.1. Both 9to5Macand MacRumors are reporting the “multiple” users have encountered some serious bugs with the newest update, including both “no cell service and broken Touch ID.” On iPhone user cited by 9to5Mac said that his phone was “basically useless” after installing the update, which means that you should definitely be wary about installing it yourself until we learn more about possible causes for these bugs.
Apple released iOS 8.0.1 earlier on Wednesday and it promised to fix multiple bugs regarding HealthKit, third-party keyboards and cellular data usage, among many other things. If these users’ reports are correct, however, it seems that Apple has replaced some of these bugs with newer, bigger bugs. We’ll update you if Apple releases a statement.
