Samsung Gear S landing on all major wireless carrier this fall
While some press releases are chock-full of information, Samsung has decided to keep their latest release short, and to the very briefest of points.
Samsung officially announced on Tuesday, September 23, that the recently unveiled Gear S will be landing on all of the major wireless carriers sometime this fall. That means that, at some point in the near future, you’ll be able to head into either a Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile store and check one out for yourself. Or buy one, if you’re into a smartwatch with a curved 2-inch display.
As far as pricing goes, that’s still unknown, too.
The Samsung Gear S’s spec list includes the aforementioned 2-inch curved display, which rocks a resolution of 480 x 360. There’s a 1GHz dual-core processor under the (tiny) hood, 4GB of built-in storage and 512MB of RAM. A 300mAh battery will keep the thing powered. If all that is not enough for you, the Gear S also supports 3G connectivity. So, if you want to answer a call or respond to a text message from your wrist without having your phone, this device is what you might be looking for.
So, make a giant circle on your calendar and start pinching those pennies. The Gear S coming stateside.
