Apple's vow to make its smartphones easy to use with one hand might not be broken, after all.

With the Cupertino-based tech giant rumored to be releasing its largest iPhones ever, some consumers have undoubtedly been wondering whether or not the bigger screen will really be more functional. That might not be an issue, however, as The New York Times reports Apple already has plans to attack the problem:

"To deal with concerns that a bigger phone will make typing with one hand difficult (the current iPhone has a four-inch screen), some changes to the design of the iPhones' user interface will allow people to type or use apps with just one hand; there will be a one-handed mode that can be switched on and off, two employees said," the publication writes.

Furthermore, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently noted that he believes the device's power button will be moved from the top to the right hand side for one-hand functionality — with certain functions incorporated to further enhance the one-hand use.

The Cupertino-based tech giant is expected to enter the "phablet" market with the sixth-generation, offering consumers 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch variants — significant increases from the current 4-inch flagship iPhone 5S. The move is believed to be aimed at some of the company's competitors, including main rival Samsung, who have been offering premium smartphones with large displays for quite some time now.

Aside from it's larger dimensions, the iPhone 6 is also believed to be launching with some enticing specs upgrades.

Rumors for the device include an Apple A8 processor, a Touch ID fingerprint scanner, Near Field Communication for mobile payments, better screen resolution, a 128GB storage option and an improved camera. The same color options offered in the iPhone 5S (Silver, Gold and Space Gray) have also been tipped for the smartphone.

Apple is also rumored to be unveiling its first smartwatch, dubbed the "iWatch," and a new iPad Air at its Sept. 9 event.
