Earlier this summer, the folks at Samsung have officially announced their latest and greatest high-end tablets: the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and the Galaxy Tab S 10.5. The later one is now available through Verizon’s network, complete with support for carrier’s LTE.
As of today, Big Red begun selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 which comes with support for their XLTE network. You will be able to get your hands on the high-end slate for a price of $599.99 off-contract. If you agree to sign a two-year deal with Verizon you will get $100 off the price of the tablet.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is indeed a beast. Just like its name suggest it arrives with a display sized 10.5 inches diagonally. But the fun part is not even close to be over. It has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels which means that it has 288 ppi pixel density. The processing tasks are handled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor based on four Krait 400 cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and an Adreno 330 GPU. The new Samsung tablet also integrates 3 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of native storage and support for microSD up to 128 GB. Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is kept alive by a 7,900 mAh battery, while the rear panel accommodates an 8 MP camera with LED flash and support for 1080p capture. There’s also a 2.1 MP camera in the front. It’s 247.3 mm tall, 177.3 mm wide, 6.6 mm thin, has a weigh of 467 grams, and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, of course, customized with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz skin.
