Moto 360 Battery Life Improved by the Latest Software Update
Google introduced Android Wear back in March and Motorola was one of the first OEMs to announce a smartwatch powered by the new platform alongside LG. The Moto 360 was detailed earlier this month at IFA and made available for purchase soon after. Early reviews of the Moto 360 have bashed the Android Wear device for its poor battery life, but it looks like this might no longer be an issue after the latest software update.
Users on Reddit are reporting that the Moto 360 battery life has drastically improved after the latest update. One redditor is reporting that after 30 hours off the charger his Moto 360 still had 53% battery left which is indeed impressive. Anyway, to be able to achieve this level of battery life, you will have to turn off Ambient Mode. Another guy says that with Ambient Mode on he got 21% battery remaining after 13 hours of usage which is pretty decent, too.
The Moto 360 update we are talking about has build number KGW42R. In order take advantage of the battery life enhancements make sure that your phone is running the latest software version which is Android Wear version 1.0.1.1448224.
When Motorola rolled out the Moto 360 KGW42R update the change log talked about Bluetooth connectivity fixes, a new charging notification, bug fixes, and other system optimizations. We have no idea why the official changelog didn’t mention anything about the battery life improvements. Anyway, we are glad the battery life improvements are there.
Are there any Moto 360 owners reading this? Have you guys received the KGW42R update? Did you notice an battery life improvements? Please let your fellow Moto 360 owners know in the comments section below.
