Amazon, the online retailer giant, introduced five new devices today, also announcing an update for Fire OS. Fire OS 4 or Sangria will be rolled out for older Amazon tablets later this year, while coming pre-loaded on the company’s latest tablets.
The new Amazon Fire HD tablet is one of the five new devices. The Fire HD is aimed at the customers not willing to spend a little fortune on a tablet and it’s advertised as “the most powerful tablet under $100.”
There are two display size options available for the 4th gen Fire HD tablet, 6 and 7 inches, both coming with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Amazon revealed that the battery squeezed underneath Fire HD’s case is capable of providing “all-day battery life” and that the new tablet will be available in five color options: black, white, dark blue, pink, and yellow.
The Amazon Fire HD technical specifications list also includes a quad-core 1.5 GHz processor, 2 MP primary camera, and 8 or 16 GB of internal storage. The price of the new tablet ranges from $99 to $159.
The company announced that the Fire HD release date has been set for October 2nd, but you can already pre-order the tablet from their website. The 6-inch model has a price of $99 with 8 GB storage and $119 with 16 GB storage. You can pre-order it using this link.
