The Samsung Galaxy S5 on T-Mobile is currently on the receiving end of a brand new Android 4.4.2 KitKat OTA update build. It isn’t a major update, but you should still install it in order to get a more secure OS and an improved KitKat experience.

The Android 4.4.2 KitKat official update for Galaxy S5 on T-Mobile brings only a couple of tweaks and improvements for the TouchWiz UI. The firmware build for this release is set at G900TUVU1BNH5 and it might possibly be the final KitKat release for your phone. Google is already planning on releasing a brand new Android L 5.0 upgrade this month or some time in October.

The update for the T-Mobile Galaxy S5 is being rolled out in phases and it will be pushed for all devices by the end of this month. Remember that the update will be pushed for all the stock devices, but you won’t get the OTA Update notification in case your phone is sporting any custom ROMs.

Android 4.4.2 KitKat G900TUVU1BNH5 is adding T-Mobile Free Inflight Texting support and possibly other changes and improvements that should make your Galaxy S5 work even better than before. Note that you should make sure that the phone’s battery charge level is over 50%, this will prevent the device from switching off during installation.

Note that in order to be able to install this new official ROM your phone has to be running one of these two older Android 4.4.2 firmware builds: G900TUVU1BNG4 or G900TUVU1ANE6. If your Galaxy S5 T-Mobile is sporting an older Android build, then you will first need to update it to one of the previously listed builds if you wish to get the latest Android 4.4.2 G900TUVU1BNH5.

When the OTA Update notification is sent your way, then you should simply confirm the download and installation process. The Galaxy S5 T-Mobile device will take care of the rest and complete update automatically. Note that this new official ROM Update is measuring somewhere around 90MB.
