Android 5.0 Lollipop for Sony Xperia Z2
Sony have revealed their plans regarding the new update for Google’s mobile operating system. According to the Japanese phone maker, the Sony Xperia Z2 Android 5.0 Lollipop update will be released sometime early 2014, followed soon after by the other members of the Z2 series.
Even though the Android 5.0 Lollipop will start rolling out for the first supported devices later next month, it looks like Sony needs more time to optimize the new firmware for their devices. As usual, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia Z2 will be rolled out in phases. Of course, the unlocked Xperia Z2 variants will be the first ones to receive the new update, as carriers tend to delay new firmwares to win more time to test them on their network.
Fortunately, the Sony Xperia Z2 will not be the only member of the Z2 series to receive the new update. Sony announced they will also be bringing the Android 5.0 Lollipop update to the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet, without mentioning when the new update will be released for the tablet.
