Nothing but good news this afternoon! An Apple event is incoming, OnePlus One invites are plentiful and there is a new Chromebook available.

Looking to get a new iPad or iMac? Hold your wallets, as there’s new rumors of upcoming announcements for both types of devices. Anonymous sources tell re/code we should all mark October 16th for an upcoming Apple event.

The Cupertino giant is said to unveil new iPads, as well as those Retina Display iMacs we hear about recently. Rumors say the release of OS X Yosemite will also be announced here.

Opinion: Keep in mind this is still a rumor and Apple has declined to comment. The details could possibly be off or changed in the coming days, but this event is likely coming soon.

OnePlus handing out 20000 invites

Have you been itching for a OnePlus One? The manufacturer is getting ready to finally make pre-orders available this month, but they wanted to have some fun before that happened.

OnePlus is offering 20000 invites to purchase the One, this time with no games or weird tactics (we all know how the Smash the Past and Ladies First contests went). All you have to do is fill out OnePlus’ Google Form.

You can’t use the same email twice and no throwaway emails are allowed.

Opinion: Simple and clean. Go get them!

HP Chromebook 14 now availble in the US and UK

The HP Chromebook 14 is unique in that it’s among the first laptops (or devices) to offer a Tegra K1 processor. People have been raging over it for some time, and now you can order them straight from HP’s official US or UK sites.

It’s also important to note there are multiple versions of this device. The UK is only getting the base model with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage for £229. Meanwhile, US customers have the option to get multiple versions.

One has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. The next iteration has 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB of ROM, while the top-tier laptop comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. These are priced at $299, $329 and $350, accordingly.

Opinion: This is one powerful Chromebook, and one to consider if you are looking for something more powerful than your basic Chrome OS laptops.
