Before iOS 8.0.1 nearly bricked your phone, before your password found its way into autocomplete suggestions and before iCloud Drive started deleting your files, we only had one question for Apple about iOS 8what happened to the Camera Roll? Without any explanation, Apple removed the folder that all of your photos and videos and replaced it with a “Recently Added” folder, subsequently enraging plenty of iPhone users.
If you are one of the many iOS 8 upgraders who are less than satisfied with the updated Photos app, don’t worry — it looks like the reaction was loud enough to make Apple reconsider. Product Reviews reports that the Camera Roll has been spotted in the iOS 8.1 beta release notes. The following picture shows what the Camera Roll would look like in iOS 8.1:

There’s no guarantee that this Camera Roll will function identically to the folder on iOS 7. Product Reviews notes that this could simply be a renamed “Recently Added” folder in order to eliminate any confusion. That said, with all the controversy surrounding Apple over the past two weeks, overblown or not, it wouldn’t make much sense for the company to ignore its customers now.
