Accessories for Nexus devices have historically been both sparse and poorly timed. Before the Nexus 5, accessories would arrive months after the device was released. The Nexus 7 (2012) charging dock comes to mind, which launched eight months after the Nexus 7. However, with the Nexus 5, Google had somewhat improved with releasing accessories.
With the announcement of the Nexus 9 today came the announcement of a keyboard case accessory. This is the official Google Keyboard Folio case for the soon to be released HTC Nexus 9, and it looks pretty fancy. The device is held in with magnets, it pairs using NFC, and it can turn the tablet on and off when opened and closed. It features mechanical keys, which is a nice touch, and should last you five months before needing to be charged.
This keyboard folio case is definitely a very nice accessory and should be pretty popular. Now it’s Google’s job to release it within a month of launching the tablet at the very least, as timing is key. Launching it four months after release will benefit nobody, but I wouldn’t put it past Google. What do you think of this case? Leave a comment!
