The virtual reality game is heating up and Archos is the latest entrant into the battle. The Archos VR Glasses are similar to both Samsung’s Gear VR headset as well as Carl Zeiss’VR One headset. All three headsets require a smartphone to be inserted into them in order to function. Once that smartphone is inserted, you can use the Archos VR glasses to play games or watch movies in stereoscopic 3D. What separates the Archos VR Glasses from the rest? They’re only $29.99.
While Samsung’s Gear VR is $199, the Carl Zeiss VR One came back swinging with a price of only $99. Archos has them both beat, however, by selling the Archos VR Glasses for $30. They may not be the prettiest things in the world, but they work. More than that, they’re compatible with over one hundred VR apps and can work with Android, iOS or Windows Phone smartphones up to 6-inches in size. The Archos VR Glasses will be available in November for $29.99.
