Motorola is a phone maker known to bring speedy updates to their smartphones. Or at least that’s what increased their popularity in the last couple of years. Now that Android 5.0 Lollipop is officially official, Motorola revealed their plans about bringing the new update to their devices. The affordable Moto E is one of them.
Soon after Google announced the new Android version, Motorola confirmedthe Moto E Android 5.0 Lollipop update. Unfortunately, the US-based phone maker failed to reveal when the new update will be released, but they promised to return with details about timing in the near future.
Moto E is reportedly the most popular Motorola smartphone launched in 2013. The affordable device is highly popular in the emerging markets especially in South America.
Android 5.0 Lollipop is without a doubt the biggest update Google’s mobile operating system has seen since its debut back in 2008. It’s even bigger than the jump from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich. The new firmware introduces a new design philosophy called Material Design, a revamped Notifications panel, Lock Screen notifications, battery saver, a redesigned Quick Settings area, new Recents menu, and more. The new update also introduces support for 64-bit processor, ART instead of Dalvik runtime, and security enhancements.
As you may know, once your Moto E becomes eligible to receive the new Android 5.0 Lollipop update, you should be able to see a system update message in the notifications bar. Tap on it, then follow the on-screen instructions. In case the system update notification failed to appear, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.
