We are expecting the HTC Desire Eye to be announced officially in the next day or so but our friends at upleaks have acquired some leaked pictures which tell us exactly what to expect; a 13MP and dual Flash… on the front of the device!
The pictures we have from upleaks shows some marketing renderings of the Desire Eye, revealing a 13MP F2.0, Wide-angle selfie cam on the front. This follows a trend of late where we have devices like the Sony Xperia C3, the Hauwei Ascend P7 and others offer improved seflie capacity with larger, wide-angle front facing camera sensors plus LED flash. The HTC Desire Eye, also tends to lean towards the younger, more selfie obsessed among us with colorful plastic housing and options for attractive red and white, or light blue designs. There is also a dedicated photo snap button on the lower right edge, similar to what we have seen from Sony and Nokia in the past.
We are of course also expecting the launch of the HTC One (M8) Eye this week, which is a larger 5.2 inch device that will also feature improved front facing camera capabilities, but essentially similar to the M8 in other regards.
The new Desire Eye is expected to have some pretty solid specs of its own however with a 1080p 5.2 inch screen, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of flash memory, and a 2,400mAh battery. More interesting perhaps is the fact that the Desire Eye is also expected to be water and dust proof.
We don’t have all the details just yet, and remember these are just rumors. HTC is holding an event in the US later this week so we will certainly have all the details by that stage. Here is a teaser video from HTC, to get you in the mood.
