Huawei is one of the biggest Chinese phone makers and it just announced a new smartphone for the Indian market. We are talking about Huawei Honor 6, a smartphone that was launched in the company’s homeland back in June.
Honor 6 is quite a powerful device, sporting an octa-core Kirin 920 SoC developed in-house by Huawei. It’s based on four Cortex A15 cores at 1.7 GHz, four low-energy Cortex A7 cores at 1.3 GHz, and a Mali T628 GPU. Huawei Honor 6 also arrives with a 5-inch multitouch LTPS display with 1080 x 1920 resolution, while running Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, customized with Huawei’s proprietary Emotion UI 2.3.
The new smartphone has dual SIM support, 3.5 mm audio jack, IR balster, and all the connectivity features worthy of a modern smartphone including 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and NFC. It’s kept alive by a 3,000 mAh battery which should be capable of delivering well over a full day of battery life with moderate usage. Huawei also boasts about a patented Power Saving Technology which is supposed to bring 30% battery life compared to similar smartphones.
On the back of the Honor 6 you will be able to find a 13 MP camera with Sony BSI sensor with F2.0 aperture and dual LED flash, while the front panel accommodates a 5 MP shooter for your selfie needs. The technical specifications list also includes 3 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage, and support for microSD card expansion.
Even though it has above-average technical specifications, on the Indian market the Huawei Honor 6 will be sold at Rs. 19,999 which is about $325. The new smartphone will be available exclusively via Flipkart and it will go on sale next week on October 6th. You will be able to choose between white and black body liveries.
The Honor 6 is indeed an appealing smartphone, so are you planning to buy one? Please let us know in the comments section below.
