HTC M8_EYE Reportedly Coming in October, Has 13 MP Dual Camera
We told you earlier today that HTC is reportedly readying a successor for the One Max, but it seems that it won’t be the only new HTC smartphone launched in the second half of the year. A new report claims that the Taiwan-based phone maker is planning to announce a new smartphone called HTC M8_EYE sometime in October.
Even though we heard about the M8_EYE for the firs time a few weeks ago, now we are also able to bring you some details about the upcoming HTC smartphone. If the rumors prove accurate, the new device will be an upgrade to the current HTC One M8.
According to UpLeaks, the HTC M8_EYE will come with an upgraded Dual Camera with 13 MP sensor. It seems though that HTC will not use the UltraPixel technology for the new sensor. HTC One M8’s 4 MP UltraPixel camera may not be the best on the market, but, despite the negative reviews, it’s capable of snapping high-quality photos, especially in low-light conditions.
There are a lot of phones including the Galaxy S5 and its 16 MP sensor, LG G3 and its 13 MP camera with laser autofocus, and many devices that use Sony’s 13 MP sensor that outmatch the One M8 when it comes to camera image quality and it looks like HTC is trying to change that. The latest HTC phones, including the Butterfly 2, have made the jump to larger MP cameras.
The report also claims that HTC M8_EYE will only be available for purchase on the Indian and the Chinese markets and that it will run Android 4.4.4 KitKat with Sense 6 out of the box. Unfortunately, there’s no way to verify the veracity of the reports, therefore we are advising you to take them with a pinch of salt. After all, nothing is official until HTC says so.
