iPad Air 2 specs and features
Apple on Thursday unveiled the new iPad Air 2 and it seems that the leaked specs we saw were spot-on, including the inclusion of the Touch ID fingerprint scanner, a gold color option, a stronger A8X processor, improved camera optics, and iOS 8.1.

- Height: 9.4 inches (240 mm)
- Width: 6.6 inches (169.5 mm)
- 18 percent thinner than the iPad Air at 6.1 mm
- New A8X processor and M8 co-processor
- Wi‑Fi (802.11a/b/g/n); dual channel (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and MIMO
- 8Mp iSight camera with an f/2.4 aperture
- Slo-mo video, at 120fps
- Ships with iOS 8 and Apple Pay support
- Touch ID, fingerprint scanning system
- Up to 10-hour battery life
- AirPlay Mirroring, photos, audio, and video out to Apple TV (2nd generation or later)
The iPad Air 2 will be available to customers for preorder on Apple’s website October 17th. It will go on sale next week and will be priced at $499 for the 16GB model, $599 for the 64GB model and $699 for the $128 GB model with your choice of finishes including including gold, silver and space gray.
