Nexus 9 Officially Announced, Packs 8.9-inch Display, 64-bit Tegra K1 CPU, and Android 5.0 Lollipop

We first learned about the Nexus 9 back in June, when a rumor surfaced online saying that Google and HTC have teamed-up to develop a new tablet that runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. After months full of rumors, speculations and leaks, the Nexus 9 is officially official and it will soon become available for purchase.

Google has announced that the Nexus 9 pre-orders will begin October 17 and that the first units will be shipped starting November 3rd. The cheapest Nexus 9 has a price of $399 and it comes with 16 GB storage and WiFi connectivity, while the most expensive model is LTE-capable and comes with 32 GB storage, being priced at $599. Just like the rumor mill speculated, the new Nexus 9 has an 8.9-inch inch display with 4:3 aspect ratio. You would also want to know that the display uses IPS LCD technology and that it comes with 1536 x 2048 resolution and a pixel density of 281 ppi. The Android 5.0 Lollipop-powered slate is underpinned by a 64-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 CPU with dual-core Denver CPU at 2.3 GHz and Kepler DX1 GPU.

The Nexus 9 technical specifications list also includes 3 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of native storage, 6,700 mAh battery, 8 MP primary camera with LED flash and Full HD video recording support and a 1.6 MP user-facing camera.
