Nexus 9 Specs
The latest and greatest Nexus tablet is now officially official. Called Nexus 9 and manufactured by HTC, it comes with beastly technical specifications just like the latest reports have anticipated.
The HTC Nexus 9 features an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels, 4:3 aspect ration, a pixel density of 281 ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The new tablet also integrates stereo speakers with HTC Boomsound technology and, even though it was rumored that it will have “zero-gap aluminium construction” it arrives with a soft touch plastic back reminiscent of Nexus 5’s. There will be three body colors available: Indigo Black, Lunar White, and Sand.
Because Android 5.0 Lollipop has native support for 64-bit processors, Nexus 9 will take the most out of Nvidia’s 64-bit-enabled Tegra K1 SoC based on two Denver CPU cores clocked at 2.3 GHz and a 192-core Kepler GPU. The Nexus 9 specs list also includes 2 GB of RAM, a 6,700 mAh battery, and 16/32 GB of native storage. Unfortunately, the tablet doesn’t have support for microSD card expansion. Connectivity-wise, the Android 5.0 Lollipop-powered slate sports HSPA, LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0. The new tablet will be available in both WiFi-only and WiFi + LTE variants.
Nexus 9 packs an 8 MP primary shooter with f/2.4 aperture, 29.2 mm focal length, autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, and support for 1080p video recording. The front panel accommodates a 1.6 MP camera that’s ideal for video calls.
The new tablet is 228.2 mm tall, 153.7 mm wide, 7.9 mm thin. The WiFi-only model has a weight of 425 grams, while the WiFi + LTE variant weighs in at 436 grams.
Google officially revealed yesterday that the pre-orders for Nexus 9 WiFi will begin October 17 and that the first units will be shipped November 3rd. The cheapest model has a price of $399, while the WiFi + LTE 32 GB model, which is also the most expensive, costs $599.
