Nexus 9 Release Date Could and Price Could Be October 15th and $399, Says Report

As the Nexus 9 release date nears, more details of the tablet co-developed by Google and HTC are surfacing online. A new report is confirming that the Android L-powered device could be announced on October 15th, which aligns with the previous Nexus 9 release date rumors.

We told you a few weeks ago that the Android L update and the new Nexus devices could be released for the public on November 1st, but, according to the folks at Bright Side of News, the new tablet will be launched October 15th and made available for purchase November 3rd. Quoting an unnamed source, the publication also writes that the price of the 8.9-inch tablet will be $399. Even though the Nexus 9 might be almost twice as expensive as the Nexus 7 2013, you shouldn’t forget that we are talking about a premium quality device.

The aforementioned publication also has information on the Nexus 9 availability. It looks like the HTC-made tablet will not sold exclusively though Play Store and that it “should be widely available on November 3rd.” They also claim that that the pre-orders will begin the day the device will be announced, October 15.

If the rumors are to be believed, the Nexus 9 will arrive with beastly specifications. The tablet is reportedly packing an 8.9-inch screen with 4:3 aspect ratio, while being underpinned by Nvidia’s 64-bit Tegra K1 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. The rumor mill also talks about an 8 MP primary cam with OIS and a 3 MP user-facing cam. Even though it was initially reported that Nexus 9 will have “zero-gap aluminium construction” a recently leaked photo has revealed that the tablet might actually arrive with a soft touch plastic back, similar to the one of the Nexus 5. Without a doubt, the new tablet will come pre-loaded with Android L.
