T-Mobile to Start Accepting Sony Xperia Z3 Pre-orders October 15, Ships October 29

About a week ago, the folks at Sony announced their intention to bring their flagship device for 2014 in the States through Verizon as Xperia Z3v. Unfortunately, the Japanese phone maker failed to reveal its plans regarding the launch of Xperia Z3 through other US carriers.

T-Mobile officially confirmed that they will carry the Sony Xperia Z3. The Magenta network will start accepting pre-orders tomorrow, October 15th, while the device will become available in-store and online as of October 29th. Anyway, the pre-ordered devices might ship a bit earlier than the “official” launch. You will be able to buy the Sony Xperia Z3 from T-Mobile for $0 down then split the payment in 24 monthly fees of $26.25, or at $630 no strings attached.

In case the Sony Xperia Z3 is too expensive for you, I remind you that the Xperia Z3 Compact is also available for purchase in the US. The 4.6-inch smartphone has a price of $529.99 and if you are a student you will be able to get it for $477.

As a refresher, the Xperia Z3 packs a 5.2-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 1920 resolution and 424 ppi pixel density, while being powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor at 2.5 GHz. The device is 146 mm tall, 72 mm thin, and 7.3 mm tall, while having a weight of 152 grams. Just like its predecessors is both water and dust proof. The technical specifications list also includes 3 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of native storage, support for microSD cards of up to 128 GB, and a 3,100 mAh battery. Sony’s flagship brings a 2.2 MP user-facing camera, 20.7 MP primary shooter with autofocus LED flash, 1/2.3” sensor size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama, and 4K video recording support. Connectivity-wise it arrives with LTE, HSPA+, WiFi, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and microUSB 2.0. The device is running Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box, of course, customized with Sony’s own skin.
