The first photos taken with Google’s hot new Nexus 6
The Nexus 6 is finally official, but eager Android fans can’t buy Google’s huge phablet just yet because preorders aren’t set to start until late October. Even though the handset can’t be tested in real-life situations, a select few lucky users already have access to it.
The same person who posted a picture showing the display differences between the Nexus 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus has also taken the Nexus 6’s main camera for a spin, posting various pictures on his Google+ page.
The Nexus 6 features a 13-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization that should offer users “more epic shots” according to Google’s own marketing materials. The camera packs a Sony IMX214 1/3.06″ CMOS sensor with Exmor RS, wide f/2.0 lens and dual LED flash.
“An f2.0 lens and 13 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization capture great photos in daylight and low light. Using advanced computational photography technology and HDR+, the pre-installed Google Camera does the heavy lifting so you can effortlessly take great photos,” Google explains on the official Nexus 6 page.
The Nexus 6’s camera performance will surely be thoroughly tested by professionals once the phone arrives, just like the iPhone 6 Plus and the Galaxy Note 4 camerasbefore.
