Android 5.0 Lollipop for Moto X 2014 Pure Edition Now Live
Good news, guys, the Moto X 2014 Android 5.0 Lollipop update is now being pushed to the owners of the Pure Edition model. After we told you earlier today that the Moto G Android 5.0 Lollipop update is being rolled out, Motorola has posted an official confirmation on their blog.
After the users members of the Motorola Feedback Network were invited to take part to the Moto X 2014 Android 5.0 soak tests, the new update is now officially available for download. As usual, the update is being rolled out in stages, thus some of you might have to wait longer than others.
You probably know already that once your device becomes eligible to receive the new update you should be able to notice a system update message in the notifications bar. Tap on it then follow the on-screen instructions. If the system update notification failed to appear, you would also want to perform a manual check under Settings > About phone > Software updates > Check now.
According to Motorola’s blog post, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update arrives with Material Design, lock screen notifications, Downtime and Interruption settings, Guest mode and multi-user support, redesigned flashlight, and more. They also mention about the new battery saver mode that help you extent your battery life.
Since the Moto X 2014 Pure Edition Android 5.0 Lollipop update is now live, it shouldn’t take too long until the other Moto X 2014 models are getting updated with the new firmware. Motorola is known for delivering fast updates to their smartphones, but this time they’ve outdone themselves. Some of their devices got the Lollipop update ahead of the Nexus devices.
