AT&T Rolls out LG G3 Update, Unfortunately It’s Not Lollipop
The folks at AT&T have announced they are rolling out a new update for the LG G3. Unfortunately, is not the much-awaited Android 5.0 Lollipop update, but only a minor one. Anyway, the new LG G3 Android 4.4.2 update is out there, so you should keep an eye on the notifications bar.
AT&T revealed that the new LG G3 Android 4.4.2 update is being pushed to users in phases, which means that some of you might have to wait longer than others. As you may know already, once your terminal becomes eligible to receive the new firmware, you should be able to notice a system update message in the notifications bar. Tap on it, choose ‘Download Now’, wait until the download is completed, then tap ‘Install now’. The smartphone should reboot and install the new software. If the system update notification failed to appear, we would also recommend you to perform a manual check under Settings > General > About phone > Software update > Check now.
According to the changelog posted on AT&T’s website the new update arrives with Google Security Patches, stability improvements, Mobile TV, and Skyfire Toolbar removal. It seems it also updates GMS (Google Mobile Service) and brings the “no power on” fix via Qualcomm’s patch. The new firmware is labelled KVT49L.D85010f.
AT&T also revealed that the new Android 4.4.2 update for LG G3 has a size of around 163 MB. We are recommending you to use a stable WiFi network while downloading the update file in order to avoid unwanted data charges.
