The Google Nexus 9 has been out in the US market since about a month now but its accessories had not been available anywhere yet. Before the device went official, the rumors about the device pointed to an extensive list of accessories being offered with it to compete with tablets like the Microsoft Surface 3. The Keyboard accessory was specifically mentioned then. The Keyboard folio cover was indeed announced with the device but had been out of stock so far at the Google Play Store as well as other retailers. Finally the accessory is in stock on the US Google Play Store and can be ordered for $129.

The Nexus 9 Keyboard folio features a multipurpose design. It not only works as a responsive mechanical keyboard for your Nexus 9 tablet but also becomes an effective cover for your tablet when it is closed. The mechanical keys on the keyboard come with a 1.4mm key travel and also has a dedicated Google search key. It can also fold into two angles, so you can change the angle of view according to your preference. Not like how you would with a mechanical hinge but it is better than having just one angle to work with. The accessory attaches magnetically and pairs with the tablet wirelessly via Bluetooth and NFC connectivity. The built-in battery of the keyboard lasts for up to 5 months according to Google.

Unfortunately the other interesting accessory for the Nexus 9, the magic cover, isn’t yet available in stock. The interesting cover attaches magnetically to the front or back of the tablet to protect it from scratches and damaged, When using the tablet, you can have cover attached to the backside.
