Nexus 6 Release Date at Sprint Set for November 14
After Google introduced the Nexus 6 mid-October, T-Mobile was the first US carrier to announce they will have the in their portfolio. After AT&Tannounced earlier today they are now accepting pre-orders for the new Nexus phone, the folks Sprint have officially revealed the Nexus 6 release date.
Sprint announced in a press release that the new Nexus 6 will begin shipping on November 14. This means that the Sprint customers will be able to get their hands on the device before AT&T’s as the second biggest US carrier will start shipping the smartphone November 18.
For the time being, the Sprint didn’t reveal the on-contract price of the Nexus 6, but expect it to be priced around $200 – 250 with a two-year agreement. Anyway, the unlocked Sprint Nexus 6 will have a price tag of $696 for the 32 GB model, which makes it more expensive than both the Play Store and AT&T variants. You can also opt for an installment plan and you will be able to grab the smartphone for $0 down and 24 monthly payments of $29.
Since there are Nexus 6 stock shortages in both Play Store and on Motorola’s website, the carriers are currently the most viable solution for the US customers. It seems that, just like AT&T, Sprint will only carry the 32 GB model with Midnight Blue color livery.
Hardware-wise Nexus 6 arrives with a 6-inch AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 resolution and 493 ppi pixel density, while being underpinned by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 SoC with quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 CPU and Adreno 420 GPU. It’s also equipped with 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, 3,220 mAh battery, and connectivity options such as LTE, NFC, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.1 Low Energy, and microUSB 2.0. It measures 159.3 x 83 x 10.1 mm, weighs in at 184 grams, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. On the back there’s a 13 MP primary camera with autofocus, optical image stabilization, dual-LED ring flash, and 4K video recording support. The user-facing camera has a 2 MP sensor.
