Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 6 Update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 Now Available
Without a blog entry or a Google Plus post to confirm it, the Paranoid Android team released a new beta build for PA 4.6 last week. Therefore, the Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 6 update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, Nexus 10 and other supported devices is now available for download. As usual, the new builds are up for grabs on Paranoid Android’s website.
Paranoid Android 4.6 plans to bring some of the Lollipop features on your device before Google officially rolls out the new update. As you may know, Android 5.0 Lollipop has yet to hit the Nexus smartphones and tablets. The previous Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta builds have brought features like Dynamic Status Bar, the new Recents menu and other Lollipop-specific features. Unfortunately, there’s no official changelog for the PA 4.6 Beta 6 release, but so far it looks like we’re dealing with a release that aims to fix bugs and improve system stability.
I have take a couple of days to test the new Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 6 build on my Nexus 5 and I wasn’t able to notice any new major features. Anyway, the experience as a whole seems smoother and I guess it’s safe to say that the new build is suited for daily usage.
I was telling you above that the Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 6 update for Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10 is now up available for download form PA’s download page, but you should also know that you will be able to install the new build on other supported devices. You can flash the new Beta 6 build on devices such as OnePlus One, Oppo Find 5, Oppo Find 7 and Find 7a, Oppo N1, and Galaxy Nexus (GSM, Verizon, and Sprint). You can download any of the aforementioned builds from PA’s download page here.
If you flashed custom ROMs before, then you shouldn’t have any problems installing Paranoid Android 4.6 Beta 6 on your smartphone or tablet. You probably know already that you must unlock the bootloader, gain root access, then install a custom recovery first. Next, you will have to download PA 4.6 Beta 6 from here and Gapps from here, copy both files on your device, then reboot in recovery mode. Go to ‘install zip from sdcard’, select ‘choose zip from sdcard’, select the ZIP files, and flash them like you would any other ZIP. Apply factory reset, then reboot.
