The smartwatches are getting more and more popular among the gadget enthusiasts. Many of the big smartphone makers are now competing on the smartwatch market as well, especially after Google introduced the Android Wear platform early this year.
Anyway, there are quite a few smartwatches to choose from, but only a few are worthy of being mentioned in our Best Smartwatches in November 2014 post. Hopefully, you will be able to find a smartwatch that fits your needs in the list below.

Samsung Gear Live
Samsung Gear Live is the first smartwatch of the South Korean company running Android Wear. It was officially announced at Google I/O this summer and, for the time being, is Samsung’s only Android Wear smartwatch available for purchase.
Gear Live has IP67 certification and it can be bought on either Black or Wine Red color options. It has a heart rate monitor that tracks your activity and syncs it with Samsung’s S Health, Google’s Fit, and other compatible apps.

Samsung Gear 2
Samsung Gear 2 has a lot in common with Gear Live when it comes to specifications, but it runs Samsung’s Tizen OS. It comes in three body colors (Black, Orange, and Brow) and it has IP67 certification (water and dust resistant).
Gear 2 features a 1.63-inch Super AMOLED display, while the processing tasks are handled by a dual-core 1 GHz Exynos CPU. It arrives with 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB storage, BT Low Energy, and a 300 mAh battery. It also has a 2 MP BSI camera and it can be synced with 17 Samsung devices such as Galaxy S5, Note 3, Note 4, Galaxy S4, or Galaxy S3.

Samsung Gear 2 Neo
Samsung Gear 2 Neo is a lower-end variant of the Gear 2. It runs Tizen OS and shares many of Gear 2’s technical specifications, except it doesn’t sport a camera.
Hardware-wise, Gear 2 Neo brings a 16.3-inch Super AMOLED display, Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB storage, and 300 mAh battery. It also has an IR blaster compatible with WatchON, it’s IP67 certified and it’s compatible with the same Samsung devices like Gear 2.

Samsung Gear Fit
Even though it’s considered a smartwatch, Samsung Gear Fit was developed with the outgoing and sporty type of customers in mind. It also runs Tizen OS, but the curved display makes it more suitable for fitness activities.
Gear Fit packs a 1.84-inch curved Super AMOLED display with 432 x 128 resolution and it’s powered by the same dual-core 1 GHz Exynos processor. The other technical specifications include 4 GB storage, 512 MB of RAM, Bluetooth, and a 210 mAh battery. It has a heart rate monitor, gyro, and accelerometer.

Motorola Moto 360
Motorola announced the Moto 360 soon after Google revealed Android Wear, in March, but the smartwatch was not released on the market until September. Even though early reviews bashed it over poor battery life, a software update has fixed the inconvenience in the meantime.
Without a doubt, Moto 360 is one of the best-looking smartwatches around. It features a 1.56-inch screen with 320 x 290 resolution and a pixel density of 205, while being water and dust proof with IP67 rating. Underneath the round case there’s a TI OMAP 3 chipset paired with 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of storage. It also integrates Bluetooth 4.0 Low Energy and a 320 mAh battery. It has a weight of 49 grams and a diameter of 46 mm.

Sony SmartWatch 3
Sony Smartwatch 3 is the first smartwatch of the Japanese company that runs on Google’s Android Wear software platform. It’s compatible with Android 4.3 and up and requires SmarWatch 3 app to be installed.
SmartWatch 3 is IP56 rated comes in Black and Yellow body colors and it features a 1.6-inch Transflective display with 320 x 320 resolution. It weighs in at 45 grams, has a quad-core 1.2 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM, 4 GB storage, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and a 420 mAh battery that can keep it awake through up to 2 days of normal usage on a single charge.

LG G Watch
After Google announced Android Wear in March, LG revealed their plans to launch the G Watch. Anyway, the LG smartwatch was introduced at Google I/O in June. Just like other smartwatches currently on the market, G Watch is IP67-certified.

LG G Watch R
LG G Watch R was officially announced by the South Korean OEM this fall and just like its square brother it’s running Android Wear. It’s also dust and water resistant with IP67 rating.
G Watch R boasts about a 1.3-inch Full Circle P-OLED display and a quad-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU. It measures 46.4 x 53.6 x 9.7 mm, weighs in at 62 grams, and the is equipped with 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB storage, gyro, heart rate monitor, barometer, and Bluetooth 4.0.

Pebble Steel
Pebble Steel has a nice and beautifully crafted smartwatch. Even though it’s not running Android Wear or Tizen OS, its design is very close to the one of a regular watch. Pebble Steel promises up to 7 days of normal usage on a single charge, while several apps are available for download in the dedicated app store.
