Nexus 7 WiFi Android 5.0 Lollipop Factory Image Leaked
Google officially announced Android 5.0 Lollipop mid-October and the new update has yet to hit the Nexus devices. If you happen to own a Nexus 7 2012 WiFi we have great news for you. The Android 5.0 Lollipop factory image for the device leaked ahead of the official release.
The leaked Nexus 7 Android 5.0 Lollipop build is labeled LRX21P and checks out with the Nexus 9 and Nexus Player builds that are already available – LRX21L and LRX21M. For the time being, it’s not clear whether we are dealing with a final build, but that’s what early signs seem to indicate.
You should also know that the leaked Nexus 7 Android 5.0 Lollipop image appears to have a problem with the bootloader image which returns a signature mismatch. Anyway, you shouldn’t worry too much about this issue as the version included is 4.23, which is pretty old.
I remind you that flashing the Android 5.0 Lollipop factory image on your Nexus 7 2012 WiFi will require a full wipe, so if you don’t want to lose any of your data you should wait until the official OTA. You can download the leaked Lollipop factory image from here then you can flash it on your device like you would any other factory image. As I was mentioning above, you might encounter some issues with the bootloader image. You can just skip it and flash system.img and boot.img.
Android 5.0 Lollipop is the biggest update Android has received so far. It’s even bigger than the jump from Gingerbread to Ice Cream Sandwich. The new update arrives with a new design philosophy called Material Design, revamped notification bar and quick settings, lock screen notifications, Android Runtime (ART) instead of Dalvik, new recents screen, and more.
