Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Update for Nexus 6 Is Now Being Pushed to Users

Yesterday, we told you thatGoogle made the Nexus 6 Android 5.0.1 factory image available for download, which was a clear sign thatthe OTA update is on the verge of rolling out. Only a couple of hours later, the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update for Nexus 6 was made available for download.

Therefore, if you happen to have a Nexus 6 nearby you should keep an eye on the notifications panel. The Nexus 6 Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update has build number LRX22C and weighs in at around 80 MB. As you might have expected already, this is just a minor update so you shouldn’t look for any major changes. Since any new major update comes with lots of bugs and Lollipop is no exception to the rule, Android 5.0.1 is aimed at fixing those bugs and improving the overall system performance.

As usual, the Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update for Nexus 6 is being rolled out in phases which means that some of you would have to wait longer than others before being able to download and install the update. Android 5.0.1 can also be flashed using the recently released factory image. Even though normally flashing a factory image wipes the data on your device, there’s a workaround for that. All you need to do is delete the ‘-w’ flag from the ‘flash-all.bat’ script.
