Asus launches convertible touchscreen laptops at Rs 35,999
Asus Transformer Flip Book TP550LD has a 15.6-inch HD screen with a hinge that enables the display to be set at any angle between zero and 360-degree.
Asus has launched two new models under its portfolio of convertible Windows 8.1 touchscreen laptops. The company also announced an Android 4.4 (KitKat)-powered tablet, priced at Rs 19,999.
The all-new Asus Transformer Flip Book TP550LD has a 15.6-inch screen with 1366x768p resolution; it has a hinge that enables the screen to be set at any angle between zero and 360-degree.
Buyers can choose between the 1.9GHz Intel Core i3 (Rs 47,999) and 2.7GHz Intel Core i5 (Rs 53,999) processor options; the 2GB Nvidia GeForce NV 820M graphics card comes as part of the standard package. This laptop also has 4GB RAM, 1TB hard disk, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, VGA front camera and a DVD drive.
Asus has used the Instant On technology in this Windows 8.1 laptop, so that it can resume from sleep mode in two seconds. When the battery charge drops below 5%, the laptop automatically backs up all the open files and other data.
The Taiwanese company's Transformer Book T200 has a 11.6-inch HD (1366x768p) display and runs on Windows 8.1. It comes with a keyboard dock and the screen can be easily detached so that the device can work as a tablet.
The model, priced at Rs 35,999, is powered by the 2.4GHz Intel Z3775 BayTrail processor with Intel HD graphics card and 2GB RAM. It has 500GB of internal storage and supports up to 32GB via external storage cards. It comes with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2MP front camera and 5MP rear camera. This convertible laptop offers battery life of up to 10.4 hours.
The Android 4.4-running Asus Transformer Pad TF103 has a 10.1-inch HD (1280x800p) screen and comes with an optional keyboard dock (which houses USB 2.0 ports). It runs on the dual-core 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor and 1GB RAM. This tablet has the same Zen UI that Asus uses on its Zenfone range of smartphones.
Connectivity options on the device include 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0, among others. This tablet packs 8GB internal storage and supports microSD cards up to 64GB. On the back is a 2MP camera, while a VGA camera is in front. It has a 5,070mAh battery.
