Best Android Apps of the Week: Evernote, Apex Launcher, Minuum

Our loyal readers may know from our previous Best Android Apps of the Week posts that listed below are both new apps and older apps that received important updates. We are also inviting you to let us know in comments whether we have missed any apps good enough to be included in our post.

Nike Golf 360 – Free

Nike’s Golf 360 app is available on iOS for about two years, but now it’s available on Android, too. Why it took Nike so long to bring it for the Android users? No one knows.
Golf 360 is a training app that should come in handy if you are aspiring to become a pro golfer. It has a golf scoreboard with support for up to four players and has info on “26,000 courses” from North America and Europe. You can also sync your scores to see how you have improved over time.

PayPal 5.10.1 – Free

The PayPal Android app has received a new update. Last week, PayPal for Android got updated to version 5.10.1.
The new update brings a feature that is an extension of PayPal Wallet, allowing you to add Gift Gards for 31 supported stores. All you need to do is scan the barcode with your phone’s camera and the card will be saved to your account. The new update also brings support for Arabic and Hebrew languages.

Evernote – Free

Evernote
Evernote is a great app for taking notes and a powerful work tool. Last week, it received a new update.
After you update Evernote to the latest version you will be able to find content even easier. If you have a Premium Account ($5/month), the app will offer relevant suggestions from various publications including The Wall Street Journal, TechCrunch, Pando Daily, and more, along with suggestions from previews notes.
Unless you don’t want a Premium Account, Evernote is free to use. You can download it from Play Store here.

Apex Launcher 3.0 – Free / $3.99

Apex is that type of launcher that aims to combine stock Android UI with rich customizations. The latest update brings it to version 3.0.
Apex Launcher 3.0 introduces a new interface that follows the Material Design guidelines and a new Material app icon. It also comes with redesigned Apex action icons, Lollipop drawer background and animation, Lollipop folder style and animation, and many other UI improvements and bug fixes.
Apex Launcher 3.0 is available for free and it can be downloaded fromhere. If you want full functionality you would have to buy Apex Launcher Pro for $3.99.

gReader 4.0 – Free

Since Android Lollipop is available on many devices, a lot of apps need to get updated to match the new Material Design interface. That’s exactly what the gReader 4.0 update does.
gReader 4.0 also received support for devices running Lollipop and it god even more Material Design-ish while keeping the ability to get a custom look using themes. Besides getting Material Design looks, gReader also received all the Lollipop-specific animations.

Flickr – Free

Flickr
Flickr for Android has over 5,000,000 million installs and now it received an update. The new update is focused on improving the experience for tablet users.
If you are using Flickr on a tablet you should be able to notice the new two-column view in the activity feed. Besides this new feature, the update also brings enhanced sharing, the ability to crop previously uploaded photos, and browsing with a fullscreen lightbox view.

Minuum Keyboard – Free / $1.99

There are quite a few keyboard alternatives available in Google Play Store and Minuum is one of the most popular ones. The latest update adds new functionality which would come in handy for people who speak multiple languages.
The new Minuum update adds simultaneous multilingual support. You will still be able to use the single row of characters that made Minuum so popular, but you will receive recommendations for more languages at once.
Minuum is available free, but you would have to pay $1.99 to unlock the full version. Minuum free can be downloaded from Play Storehere.

IFTTT 1.2 – Free

IFTTT
If this then that or simply IFTTT is an awesome automatization tool that’s available for Android users. Last week, it got updated to version 1.2.
IFTTT 1.2 brings some interface improvements that make it look more Lollipop ready. Besides the interface tweaks, the latest IFTTT update also brings improved recipe syncing and a ton of new channels.

Flesky Keyboard 5.0 – Free

Flesky 5.0
Flesky 5.0 is now up for grabs in Google Play Store. Besides some performance improvements, it also adds new features.
The Flesky 5.0 update adds extensions to the keyboard which would be able to help you do things like adding a number row or inserting GIFs and launching apps. The new update also adds some Material Design to the keyboard and adds premium keyboard themes.
Flesky is available at a price of $1.99. You can download it from Pay Store here.
