Don Bradman Cricket 14 Coming to PS4 and Xbox One in February
Much like most games that released this year on PlayStation 3 (PS3) and Xbox 360, Don Bradman Cricket 14 will be available on the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One in February next year. The game is developed by Big Ant Studios, and will be published by Tru Blu Entertainment, a division of Sydney-based distribution firm Home Entertainment Suppliers (HES).
"Following on from the critically acclaimed Don Bradman Cricket 14, we are proud to now bring the greatest cricket player of all time to the next generation of consoles." said Sebastian Giompaolo, Managing Director for HES, "I am excited by what Big Ant Studios have been able to produce, this is without doubt the best cricket video game to date."
What's heartening to know is the game will have the same controls, physics, and robust career mode that its last generation predecessor was known for. Furthermore, the Cricket Academy from the previous game makes a comeback. This allows users to make their own teams, competitions, and tournaments, among other things, as well as download and use over 100,000 community-created players and teams.
The timing could not have been more apt what with the ICC Cricket World Cup taking place in the same month. The first game was met with critical acclaim in a country where cricket is more or less a religion for most. That too, in spite of its high price point. The PS3 and Xbox 360 variants sold for Rs. 3,999 while the PC version retailed for Rs. 3,699. Keeping that in mind, don't expect a better price on the PS4 or Xbox One. In fact, expect the same, if not more what with games from publishers such as Electronic Arts, Sony, and Microsoft retailing in excess of Rs. 4,000 on the PS4 and Xbox One.
For those of you wondering, Sunder Electronics will be distributing it in the country. So you can safely expect it day and date with the rest of the world or at least relatively close.
