HTC One M9 (Hima) Front Panel Leaks With Ultra-Slim Bezels

It looks like the HTC 2015 flagship rumors can’t stop coming in lately. After two exhaustive spec-sheet leaks in the past few days, now we have the first parts leak of the HTC ‘Hima’ flagship. French blog Nowhereelse.frseem to have pictures of the front panel of an upcoming HTC smartphone showing extremely thin bezels on all sides. The front panel allegedly belongs to the 2015 HTC flagship smartphone and according to the source of the pictures, the smartphone will feature a 5.2” display. The recent rumors pegged the display size at 5.5-inches though.

The front panel unfortunately doesn’t give us much idea about the design or even the actual display size as there is no other panel beside it for physical reference. But even if the panel that has been leaked is indeed the real deal, it doesn’t necessarily have to be from the next HTC flagship smartphone. Nowhereelse.fr believes the same and does admit that the part could belong to some other smartphone from HTC’s 2015 lineup. The bezels do appear to be much thinner than usual by HTC standards but again, it cannot be verified as we are not aware of the complete design yet. It might have the HTC BoomSound stereo speakers on the top and bottom like the One M7 and One M8, in which case the bezels would turn out to be almost the same as those two smartphones.

Even though an earlier rumor did claim that the next HTC flagship smartphone would sport a 5.2” 1080p display, the recent rumor byupleaks does seem to be more credible since the tipster has leaked previous HTC devices accurately in the past like the HTC One M8 Eye, HTC Desire 820 and a few other mid-range devices. Recently upleaks also shared information on some other devices other than the Hima. According to upleaks, HTC is planning on launching an Ultra version of Hima as well, which could be a phablet variant of the flagship smartphone like the HTC One Max that launched last year. This year HTC decided to stay away from the phablet market, but perhaps they decided they should join in the phablet bandwagon once again next year. Apart from Hima Ultra, the HTC Butterly 3 is coming next year as well and will be restricted to a select few Asian markets including Japan, like its predecessors. Also HTC is said to be considering a Windows Phone variant of Hima, much like the One M8 for Windows smartphone that launched this year. Although upleaks does say that this bit of information isn’t confirmed yet and will need to be verified.

Other than smartphones, HTC is also working on a Nexus 9 based tablet apparently that will run Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7. We expect the specs should remain similar to the Nexus 9, with an Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset and a similar display and design as well. The successor to HTC RE Camera – RE Camera 2 is in development too, but isn’t expected to launch in the first half of next year.
