Sony Pictures employees receiving threats from hackers
Sony’s hack has been all over the front pages this week. It’s an incident of huge magnitude, for sure, but so far it had only been about the company and its practices. New reports claim things have been taken to a whole other level, though.
It’s unclear whether this comes from GOP or not, but the latest email to Sony employees doesn’t seem to be “guarding the peace” very much. It’s pretty much asking Sony employees to join them or they “and their families” will be in danger. Ouch.
I am the head of GOP who made you worry.Removing Sony Pictures on earth is a very tiny work for our group which is a worldwide organization. And what we have done so far is only a small part of our further plan. It’s your false if you if you think this crisis will be over after some time. All hope will leave you and Sony Pictures will collapse. This situation is only due to Sony Pictures. Sony Pictures is responsible for whatever the result is. Sony Pictues clings to what is good to nobody from the beginning. It’s silly to expect in Sony Pictures to take off us. Sony Pictures makes only useless efforts. One beside you can be our member. Many things beyond imagination will happen at many places of the world. Our agents find themselves act in necessary places. Please sign your name to object the false of the company at the email address below if you don’t want to suffer damage. If you don’t, not only you but your family will be in danger.Nobody can prevent us, but the only way is to follow our demand. If you want to prevent us, make your company behave wisely.
Opinion: I must say this doesn’t sound like the GOP team we have been hearing from all this time. This is a mejor threat, and it will also take investigations and punishment to a higher caliber.
Mark Zuckerberg responds to Tim Cook’s comments on ads
In other tech gossip news, we have Mark Zuckerberg and Tim Cook going at it. Apple’s CEO recently said companies that generate profit through revenue are turning their users into “products”. This was likely aimed more towards direct competitors, but Facebook’s Zuckerberg didn’t wait long to respond.
In an interview with Time, Mark showed his disgust with the following comment:
“A frustration I have is that a lot of people increasingly seem to equate an advertising business model with somehow being out of alignment with your customers. What, you think because you’re paying Apple that you’re somehow in alignment with them? If you were in alignment with them, then they’d make their products a lot cheaper.”
Opinion: You are right on the money, Mark! These are simply different business models. It’s why services from Facebook and Google are often free or very cheap. Not to say it’s better, but it’s definitely a more accessible model.
A solar-powered jacket that charges your devices?
At first glance, a solar-powered jacked with the ability to charge smartphones sounds like an awesome idea. Then you see how it looks, and you can’t help but think that it would be a better idea if your phone died.
Regardless, if you ever need it, the wearable exists. It’s sold by Tommy Hilfiger and costs a whopping $599.
Opinion: I wouldn’t wear this in a hundred years, unless I really needed to. After all, I could see it being a great tool for outdoor lovers and camping fans. Other than that, there’s really no pushing need for it (at least in my opinion).
